One of the most special things that the Greendale Lions Club supports in the state of Wisconsin is the Wisconsin Lions Camp.

"Blind kids can't go to outdoor camps and stuff like that . . ."

This remark by a blind teenager started it over 50 years ago.  That chance comment was overheard by a Lions Club member in Poysippi, Wisconsin and has turned dream into reality for thousands of youth and adults with disabilities.  The Lions of the state of Wisconsin created the Wisconsin Lions Camp in 1956 and also created the Wisconsin Lions Foundation, Inc. at the same time to administer the Camp program.

Each year the Greendale Lions Club makes an endowment to the Wisconsin Lions Camp. In the past we have also made trips to volunteer at the camp in Rosholt, Wisconsin.

The Milwaukee Admirals have joined with the Lions Clubs of Wisconsin to sponsor a Lions Day at the Bradley Center. A portion of the tickets purchased for this game are donated to the Wisconsin Lions Camp to help provide camping experiences free-of-charge to eligible Wisconsin residents who are Blind or visually impaired, Deaf or Hard of Hearing, youth with mild cognitive disabilities and youth with diabetes.

For more information about the Wisconsin Lions Camp please visit their website, or you can find links to other Lions groups on our links page.
