The Greendale Lions ( https://greendalelions.org/ )
meet once a month for a general membership dinner, for networking and fellowship, with interesting local guest speakers. We have been helping our beloved community of Greendale since 1956.

Lions Clubs International ( https://www.lionsclubs.org/ ) was founded in 1917.
We are the world’s largest and most effective community service organization, with 1.4 million members worldwide, in 46,000 Lions clubs in approximately 190 countries and areas. Regardless of what language they speak, religion they practice or politics they espouse, all Lions are dedicated to seeking out and helping those in need. The official motto of the association is simply “We Serve”. What better way to explain our mission?

If you would like to help your community and meet some nice friendly people, Contact Membership Chair Brian Bock at Contact Membership Chair Brian Bock at greendalelions@gmail.com, or talk to a smiling face wearing a Lions emblem.

We sure could use your help

It takes an army of almost 300 volunteers to put on the Lions events for Greendale. If you share our love to serve, please consider signing up for one or two of our volunteer slots. It’s only a small time commitment, it’s a lot of fun and you don’t have to be a Lion to help out.

Here’s a great tip: When you sign up, you can allocate your time to benefit one of our approved fundraiser groups that are splitting the contents of the tip jars!

SERVICE

Canterbury-snack-initiative
Snack Initiative in Greendale School (above is at Canterbury School)

We connect with the community by co-sponsoring the Athletic Scoreboard at Greendale High School, sponsoring “Daily Snack Initiative” with the Greendale grade schools providing mid-morning snacks to students in need and provide funds for those who do not have money to purchase lunch.  We continue to explore other ideas as well, including as a liaison with the Greendale Health Department initiatives.

YOUTH

We help improve our community of Greendale by supporting such initiatives as NOVA the Police Dog, The Greendale Marching Band, Youth Football, Gazebo updates, Lions Park, the Greendale Garden Walk, Greendale Children’s Garden, and so much more.

HEALTH & WELLNESS

By conducting free vision screenings for kids at our festivals, collecting used eyeglasses and hearing aids, and raising awareness of eye disease, we work toward our mission of providing vision for all. We have extended our commitment to sight conservation through countless local efforts and through our international SightFirst Program, which works to eradicate blindness.
